Deliverance Follows Obedience

Deliverance Follows Obedience
Prepare your heart to seek God for obedience that you may observe and do all that Christ has commanded through His holy apostles.
"For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one consent." (Zephaniah 3:9)

Colossians 1:17-20 (S8W Ministries Online Assembly)

Embedded Assembly Video follows notes:

Col 1:1 Paul identifying the house of His stewardship. Of Jesus Christ and not of Moses.

Hebrews 3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

Paul is speaking of those things which were to be spoken after. Not of the open signs of Moses or in the open signs identifying Jesus as Christ but in the new house established by Christ beginning with His ascension and the pouring out of His Spirit to initiate His new house within the hearts of sons and daughters who would be born again not of water but by the fire of His Spirit.

Col 1:5 You heard of the hope laid up for you in heaven. The Lord has awakened you to our true hope of returning to our true origin through faith in Jesus Christ. Even as Christ Jesus went before us to stand ready at the door to receive all those who follow after Him in grace and suffering now.

  • Speaking of another kingdom than that which we were born into.
  • Speaking of another power than that which we had become accustomed to
  • Speaking of another Name that that which we had become identified with.
  • Speaking of another House, another pattern, another offspring.

  • Col 1:6 Heard and knew grace in truth. Recognition of stewardship. Receiving us apostles even as Christ that your fellowship with Him be sanctified by Him. (Galatians 4:14)

Col 1:9 Our stewardship is necessary for you to be filled with the knowledge of His will. God raises up His own stewards to give direction for faith and knowledge for testing the spirits.

Col 1:10 Might walk worthy: If you do, the outcome is predictable: Pleasing (not repenting), fruitful (substance born of Him), increasing in His knowledge (gaining new understanding through new experience as Christ is continually manifesting Himself to you as promised.)

This fruit cannot be of our own kind. For even as we were born strangers to God without knowledge of this hope reserved in heaven by Him for us, so too does He find fault with our own fruit even when we desire to offer it to Him with all sincerity. Zeal is no substitute for faith.

I had the word of knowledge, “Artificial Insemination” come to mind this morning. This brought to mind a recent radio program discussing this technology which I hadn’t found interesting at the time. But upon receiving this word of knowledge, I reflected upon this with interest concerning what the Spirit was communicating to me for my understanding.

God concealed a prototype of this process of fruitbearing and increase in the virgin birth of Christ. In this, we see how we must also now bear fruit for another kingdom, another house, another Name. Mary was symbolic of our souls which must be joined to the power and presence of God to bear for Him. Christ is the seed of the Father (1 Peter 1:23).

Through this joining which is not by the will of man but must be initiated by God, we bear fruit for His house after His kind within our souls. Only this fruit will be honored by Him as being equal to Himself (being without fault and blameless in His sight.)

For as God has so loved the world… giving us His Seed… so do we love God… by bearing His Seed for His Name and not our own.

Col 1v13: Delivered from darkness through translation to another kingdom. How? By what power? God gave power (to accompany His Seed in us) that we may be fruitful in His house bearing offspring within our hearts for Him after His kind. Divine power for divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4)

Col 1v15 Image and firstborn… setting the pattern for us to follow. Our fruit bears our image which God finds fault with but His fruit bears His image and is pleasing in His sight. Faith MUST therefore be joined in sanctified contact with Him according to the terms set by Him and made known by His apostles who taught the commandments of His new covenant for this joining, fruitbearing, and increase. (Acts 1:2, 2:42)

Col 1v16 All things created by Him but not all things were created for faith. God created all things through Christ but reserved Christ for faith. Therefore when the perfecting of faith is sought in Moses, the shadow of darkness remains and the hypocrisy of the heart stands contrary to grace and truth. We cannot know Him any longer in the shadows because He has now fully manifest Himself to us and stands at the door of the conscience ready to translate us from the shadows of darkness to His glorious light.

This was His plan from the beginning. To provide Himself as the only contact point for this joining and mating to bring forth sons and daughters without fault and blameless in His sight. Christ being the firstborn of many brethren.

Which brings us to vs 17…

If you’d like to come into covenant with God, you have to begin to seek God. You’re also going to have to put aside the barriers of your former traditions and your mindset. You’re going to have to seek Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength if you want to come into covenant with God. His grace will abound towards those who seek Him out of a pure heart. – Apostle Eric vonAnderseck
