The Mystery of the Gospel of our Salvation: Christ in us

I wanted to share some reflections from this morning's prayer and study time. I was reviewing an assembly recording from Chief Apostle Eric and he was expounding on the mystery of Christ being the gospel of our salvation. The hypocrisy and lack of power we see within the false church is due to their removing faith from the mystery of Christ and setting it instead within the fundamental facts as concerning His virgin birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension. These historical facts are true and faithful but the mystery of Christ, the gospel of our salvation, goes beyond those historical facts. 

The apostles of Christ make known this mystery which takes faith from the vain perspective of trying to manifest Christ out of history and tradition by setting faith instead with the power and hope of Christ in us. It is Christ in us which brings healing from the soul. Eric was also bringing out as concerning our being saved... while the unconverted believer will proudly proclaim they are saved one must ask, "saved from what and by what means?" Salvation has to do with the salvaging of our souls from the ravages of sin and darkness which left the soul in a state of ruin and corruption (being unfit for service... think of a rusted out car in a junk yard which is no longer fit for service in its present condition.)

Here's how Apostle Paul wrote of these things:

Ephesians 3:1-7

1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

When faith is removed from this mystery (which concerns the pattern and the power provided from above to bring healing and restoration to our souls), faith remains dead and wanders in the wilderness in search of scraps of bread and drips of water. But when faith is re-directed from flesh to flame by this mystery which is again being preached by His holy apostles and prophets (who confirm the pattern made known to the apostles), then the soul is made full by the bountiful supply of the true Bread of Life and Living Water which are the grace and truth of God in Christ... and we then experience Christ in us which is the promise of the Father and the hope of the righteous.

These form the pattern of God’s Covenant Knowledge for faith in Christ 

These are God’s spiritual DNA which make up the pattern of life in Christ

First Element: Grace

Grace is the element that tells us about how God speaks to us.

This element is initiated by God

• We see Christ 
• through the Spirit 
• as God unfolds Him to our understanding. 

Peter experienced the grace of God when He said to Jesus, "You are the Christ!" Matthew 16:16. Jesus then explained to Peter that he knew this by the revelation of the Spirit.

Matthew 16:13-17
13. When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14. And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

In this we can see a distinction between those who were reasoning in their own minds and those who were willing to receive the grace of God which was brining revelation as concerning His Christ to all those who were coming into contact with Him.

Peter perceived Christ as God was unfolding Him to his understanding through the element of grace while the others were trying to work out who He could be through the limited power of their own reasoning.

The grace of God carried the power of reason from above, which Peter reciprocated (faith).

• Grace carries the conviction of faith for righteousness. 
• Grace draws faith from the heart. 

As Apostle Peter wrote: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18)

The element of Grace plays the role of God initiating the revelation of Christ. 





Second Element: Faith

Faith is the element that tells as how God expects man to reciprocate (respond) to grace.

This element is our responsibility

• action step 
• you take 
• in response to grace. 

It means that you first recognize grace and then yield your mind and emotions to the revelation of the Spirit as Christ is made known to your understanding.

Faith is the measure of God.

• God gives us the tools, truth, and priesthood to express our faith; to reciprocate Christ, and in return God reciprocates to us the likeness of His holiness, charity, and fruit. 
• Thus faith is how you use the building blocks of God's knowledge to reflect Christ and thus please God. 

Hebrews 11:6-8
6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

The element of faith plays the role of our obedience to His grace.

Binary Law: 

Grace: God initiates ==><== Man responds: Faith

In the pattern of the relationship between these two elements we see the spiritual laws of “Reciprocation in Kind” and “Contact for Increase”.

(By the action of these two elements we reciprocate the likeness of Christ.)

In the pattern of this relationship we see the flow or direction of the path the Spirit follows.

• When Faith is drawn by Grace, Christ is reciprocated in kind.
• When Faith precedes Grace, Christ is not being reciprocated in kind.

• When Faith is drawn by Grace, our souls increase in His knowledge through this contact.
• When Faith precedes Grace, darkness increases and the soul suffers loss.

• When Faith is drawn by Grace, God is well pleased.
• When Faith precedes Grace, God takes offense.

Faith is always joined to works that is made living by God. God reveals Christ to set a path for your faith and He continues to build on that revelation as we mold our confidence with it, expressing our faith through the tools which He has provided for our faith.
