Deliverance Follows Obedience

Deliverance Follows Obedience
Prepare your heart to seek God for obedience that you may observe and do all that Christ has commanded through His holy apostles.
"For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one consent." (Zephaniah 3:9)

1 John 2:1-4 (S8W Online Assembly)

Embedded Assembly Video Below

What provokes man? When he is hungry he desires to partake of food and the stomach says: “you are hungry!”. This is a cue (provocation) for man's survival, but God also has a spiritual cue for faith called grace, which has to be taught by the Lords steward.

Stewardship teaches the commandments of God (truth) which is the missing link of faith and why the church is absent of the virtue of Christ. Instruction is the first step in serving God. Truth makes your faith cognitive!

In this first epistle of John, we see Apostle John bringing addresses
  • "little children" 5 times (vs 1,12,13,18,28),
  • "young men" 2 times (vs 13,14),
  • "fathers" 2 times (vs 13,14)
Little children are new coverts. May be old in years lived or time spent in the FRS but young as concerning covenant knowledge and their embracing the Apostles' Doctrine (Acts 2:42).

Young men are those who are functioning in their priesthood daily and growing strong in His grace and overcoming.

Fathers has to do with those well established in the faith and confirmed in the callings of God’s selection as elders. Fathers are able to clearly identify the pattern God set for our faith in Christ and are able to share from this one foundation of truth.

Apostle John is addressing new converts who have to now build with the new knowledge instead of their past experiences.

1 John 1:5-10 (S8W Online Assembly)

Embedded Assembly Video Below

A thief will climb up some other way which God has not sanctified. This is why Jesus Christ called Himself the door. As ambassadors of Christ, covenant apostles direct faith into Him that they may experience the fullness of Christ and His work of regeneration within their souls. Strait is the gate (one way) and narrow (restriction of that pattern) is the way. There is always a challenge that comes with change. Will you serve God His way?

In this epistle, Apostle John is bringing out:
  • Why our confidence can be placed in Christ,
  • How He manifests Himself through His GTS,
  • How separation is necessary from darkness to light,
  • And that our stages of growth are through our overcoming.
Keep in mind the following definitions:

SIN (singular) = System
SINS (plural) = Fruits

Therefore sin is the system that inspires the fruit (sins). We take on the substance (fruit) of the system we join ourselves to.

Also note that Apostle John is writing this epistle to those whom he was already stewarding. You can think of this as the Dean of Medicine at a hospital writing to all of the licensed staff members who have all received certain levels of medical training and have all proven themselves through their application with that knowledge in the field. The letter would not re-teach their intro to medicine classes but would draw upon that foundation knowledge which they all share and speak from within the framework of that common understanding. This is what we see in all of the letters of the apostles contained within the scriptures.

Study to show yourself approved

I woke this morning with these words in my thoughts:

"Study to show yourself approved."

This is what Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to Apostle Timothy:

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Paul was not directing him to study in search of truth or to study in search of God’s purpose and will. How do we know this? Let’s look at this further.

Rightly dividing the word of truth: Christ is the word of God. Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Christ provides for our discernment within Himself by His own headship.

Rightly dividing speaks of discernment which is only possible with the foundation of truth in the heart. Truth has to do with the foundation knowledge of Christ which comes through the stewardship and oversight of living apostles. Paul had already stewarded the holy ordered knowledge of Christ to Timothy who had already studied the Apostles’ Doctrine and was already functioning in the spiritual priesthood of Christ.

A workman that needs not to be ashamed: A workman is one who is building with substance and tools to bring forth and increase. The increase of our labor of faith with the spiritual tools and eternal substance of Christ is in the form of the fruit of faith. It is this fruit which is born of the Spirit as His record (truth) and witness (of the Father) are joined together in our hearts which is approved by God for it reflects the work of Christ in us.

We are not the ones producing the fruit of faith in our heart. Our truth is not our own. We are receiving from God both His knowledge (blueprint) and power (in all the tools of His Spirit) and so is the fruit after His own kind. For God has said, “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” Nothing short of faith IN Christ is approved of God.

Study: If we do not exercise our faith in the Doctrine of Christ which is the Apostles’ Doctrine, then our hearts will wander beyond the boundaries God set for faith IN Christ.

The knowledge of His covenant makes distinction between the First and Second (New) Covenants. The record of Christ for faith hasn’t changed but the tools sanctified by God for faith have. Faith has always been defined by God has the humbling of the will in obedience to the power and influence of His grace. Grace has always been defined by God as the form of communication which comes from God to man to direct us into a covenant relationship with Him through our obedience of faith.

Without truth, we cannot be fruitful servants of the Lord who are not ashamed for their labor of faith is not void of fruit. Without studying or reflecting upon the ordered knowledge of Christ, our hearts would wander and so would the lines begin to blur. When we are studying to rightly divide, the lines remain quite clear as the Lord is neither vague nor ambiguous about setting and making known the terms and conditions He set for faith to find approval in His sight.

I conclude my reflections upon the words “Study to show yourself approved” with this spiritual sacrifice of prophecy for your edification:

“Blessed are they who study the knowledge of Christ with faith and truth in their hearts for God is governing their destinies as approved children under the tutelage of His holy angels.”

Baptism of the Spirit with Witness of Tongues

When God baptizes you with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ will then be in you, and God’s covenant sealed unto you. God designed the baptism of the Holy Spirit for covenant contact. Covenant is the door that is open to you in Christ for many wonderful things to now take place, which could not take place if you remained outside of covenant. It is through covenant contact that we experience these things:
  • God tests our faith
  • God establishes relationship
  • God receives fruit
  • We gain trust
  • We are brought into God’s care:
  • We are preserved in His framework of truth
  • We experience the circumcision of the heart
Apostle John Welty teaches from the Apostles' Doctrine on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is evidenced by speaking in tongues in this 2 part video:

The Headship of Christ is Seen in the Stewardship of His Holy Ordered Knowledge

The stewardship of Christ is not about the man but the measure of grace supplied by God.

False apostles and teachers present a record for faith which reflects their own image which they project through the scriptures to present it as Christ. Their doctrine always centers upon the frailty of man which speaks to our fear of lack and the needs of the flesh.

The doctrine of Christ which is taught by living apostles of Christ does not reflect the authorship of man. These are not doctrine of man but the doctrine of Christ. We teach just as we received of Him. Nothing added, and nothing taken away. This is why the Spirit makes this knowledge effectual for the regeneration of the soul. This is the true record provided by God for our faith in Christ.

The Apostles' Doctrine centers upon Christ and clearly makes known the terms and conditions God set for our covenant contact with Him through Christ who sanctifies the faith of the righteous. You will see this same focus in all the letters of the apostles.

The pattern of God using sanctified knowledge stewards to provide direction for faith is confirmed all throughout the scriptures... here's a few examples:

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

1 John 1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

2 Peter 3:2 That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Philippians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Follow Christ: Holy, Harmless, Undefiled, and Separate from Sinners

We take on the substance of the kingdom we join ourselves to and we worship the one whose tools we use. Our deliverance from the vain things of the world is made effectual through our building in the kingdom of God with the ordered knowledge of Christ and the tools of His Spirit for with these things we function daily as priests. We follow after Christ, our high priest, being holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners and so shall we follow Him in as being made higher than the heavens. (Heb 7:26)

Exodus 19:6
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Isaiah 53:11
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:6
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

How then is it that we hear so many who profess themselves to be followers of Christ but know nothing of the terms and conditions God set for faith to be joined to Him through His New Covenant? Praise God for restoring apostles today that we may learn of Him and join ourselves to Him with perfect faith as we worship the Father in Spirit and in truth!

For we cannot follow Him in darkness, ignorance, or confusion. For in Him is no darkness at all and those who stand in darkness know not the Father or the Son. Jesus addressed the established religious leaders and followers of His time with correction. He spoke to them of the kingdom of God in truth to assist them in untangling the knots they had tied themselves into by mixing faith with aspiration, replacing truth by their own principles, and reaching beyond the boundaries of the covenant with their imaginations.

God does not accept faith which has been defiled by the aspiration. God will not confirm the principle of man but only His truth which comes from above by revelation according to the measure of grace He supplies to His selected knowledge stewards. God does no fan the flames of the imagination but provides His government, truth, and Spirit to reign in and tame the beastly nature of man that we may learn of Him through His priesthood and walk uprightly with Him in Spirit and in truth.

Just as the Spirit led people FROM the temple to hear of Christ by the lips of John, so must those who have an ear to hear also come out from among the shadows of darkness to be assisted by those who know Christ in truth and abide in His Light.

Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Philippians 4:9
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Manifestation of Christ

I woke earlier than usual this morning with a strong sense of peace and calm. I stayed in bed for a while and prayed in the spirit while enjoying this manifestation of Christ’s presence.

I felt as if I was within a bubble or something like that... a bit of an out-of-body detachment from my surroundings.

You shall be perfect with the LORD your God (Deuteronomy 18:13)

"Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God." (Deuteronomy 18:13)

While we are not perfect in the flesh, our faith can and must be perfect in Christ. God provides truth in Christ through His living apostles to separate our faith from flesh to flame.

When our faith is governed by the grace and truth of God in Christ, then our repentance is sealed by faith in Him according to the terms and conditions of the covenant of Christ and we are no longer in bondage to the powers of this world with a defiled conscience.

For we have liberty from sin through covenant faith in Christ.

1 John 1:1-4 (S8W Online Assembly)

The record of Jesus Christ (pattern of knowledge) is central to our experience with God and the only record which God sanctifies for faith. Understanding the value of this knowledge and those who teach it (covenant apostles), are the first principles of Christ of salvation.

In this epistle, Apostle John is bringing out:
  • Why our confidence can be placed in Christ,
  • How He manifests Himself through His GTS,
  • How separation is necessary from darkness to light,
  • And that our stages of growth are through our overcoming.
What is sin and what has God provided in Christ to free us from it?

Keep in mind the following definitions:

SIN (singular) = System
SINS (plural) = Fruits

Therefore sin is the system that inspires the fruit (sins). We take on the substance (fruit) of the system we join ourselves to.

Also note that Apostle John is writing this epistle to those whom he was already stewarding. You can think of this as the Dean of Medicine at a hospital writing to all of the licensed staff members who have all received certain levels of medical training and have all proven themselves through their application with that knowledge in the field. Reading Scriptures to your Own Destruction (2 Peter 3:16)

Using scriptures, written by apostles, inspired by God, without seeking instruction from living apostles, leads people to their own destruction.

As Chief Apostle Peter warned , "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:16)

Peter was warning them as concerning those who were attempting to learn of Christ on their own by reading Apostle Paul's epistles without seeking assistance through the sanctified stewardship of God. Even then they were saying, "We need no man to teach us!" but were studying the scriptures which were written by men... even then they were buying books written by thousands of instructors while while departing from the Truth of the gospel delivered through living apostles. (1 Corinthians 4:15)

This attempt to dictate policy to God is an offense to God. They are saying, we will NOT listen to those you've sent to us and we DEMAND that you teach us your Truth directly! But God will not bow the knee to man. God selects His own stewardship and restricts Truth to His apostles that all men must submit to the Headship of Christ to benefit from His work of redemption within their souls.

Without living apostolic stewardship, the church is embracing a headless jesus who is NOT the Living Christ. This is why they are not being delivered from sin. This is why they are not experiencing the promise of the Father. Christ is the promise of the Father. Christ works WITHIN the soul to cleanse the conscience and form within us a New Man. This is the purpose of our being born again by the Baptism of His Spirit along with the first spiritual tool of the New Covenant Priesthood which is the prayer language of tongues.

Daily I stand in amazement at the consistency of the quickening of the Spirit

I see all around me how people look for inspirations in all sorts of places. I see them reading little booklets like “Our Daily Bread” and I see them buying magazines with headline promises about resolving their issues. I see them seeking out new music or a new book or a new companion... the list is endless. Always something new if only a new edition of an existing booklet or magazine.

After having my faith made living by the Spirit of God and learning to touch Him only through the sanctified tools of His Spirit by coming into covenant with Him, I now find inspiration only in Christ. Those things which I once also found inspiring are no longer of any value to me. Not because I’ve snubbed them in favor of something else but because I’ve now experienced the reality of the fullness of Christ. To look for Him in those things now would be like favoring a picture of your loved one over his/her presence.

Those things spoke of Christ in bits and pieces which were comforting in His absence but now I know where Christ is and how to abide in His presence.

Praise God for the liberty we have been given in Christ!

When truth was in part and I was seeking out nuggets, I was trying to build faith while also building a foundation that changed with each new nugget. While felt whole heartedly at the time that this was a noble pursuit of faith out of my love of God, I now realize this was a foolish and endless maze I had fallen into which distracted me from Christ. Truth is the foundation for faith. If truth is in part, then faith is being built on sand. Christ warned us against this.

Christ is the stone and our firm foundation. Christ is truth. If truth is something you glean in bits in pieces over your lifetime then that stone must’ve been smashed to pieces to become sand... The whole pursuit of truth is then a fantasy and vain labor. It was Christ Himself that brought me to this awakening. He put a hunger in me to know Him no longer in part but in whole. He put a hunger in me to know Him only in truth which is perfect with nothing missing and nothing added. He then put me into contact with a living apostle of Christ in order to receive Christ in truth.

Praise God for restoring holy men and women of God again in these last days that we may forsake our vain imaginations, cast aside the philosophies of this world, and embrace Him in His fullness by taking on the yoke of His covenant while daily pleasing Him with perfect faith in cooperation with His Holy Spirit!

“For the Lord rejoices over the children of His righteousness for as they behold Christ in His tools by the eyes of His Spirit, so also does He behold Christ in their faith which reflects Him perfectly.”

Our Life is Hid with Christ in God (Col 3:3)

Upon our last move, we ended up purchasing a house during the winter. In the following spring we discovered that the main shade tree for our porch was dead. We waited patiently as all of the other trees in our yard and in our neighborhood began to show signs of life while this one tree remained dormant.

I've reflected often on the doctrine of Christ in connection with this tree. My first reflections had to do with what the Apostle Hermas was taught by the angel sent to him as recorded in The Shepherd of Hermas (Book III, Similitude 3 and 4):

The Shepherd of Hermas (Book III, Similitude 3)
He showed me many trees having no leaves, but withered, as it seemed to me; for all were alike. And he said to me, "Do you see those trees?" "I see, sir," I replied, "that all are alike, and withered." He answered me, and said, "These trees which you see are those who dwell in this world." "Why, then, sir," I said, "are they withered, as it were, and alike?" "Because," he said, "neither are the righteous manifest in this life, nor sinners, but they are alike; for this life is a winter to the righteous, and they do not manifest themselves, because they dwell with sinners: for as in winter trees that have cast their leaves are alike, and it is not seen which are dead and which are living, so in this world neither do the righteous show themselves, nor sinners, but all are alike one to another."

The Shepherd of Hermas (Book III, Similitude 4)
He showed me again many trees, some budding, and others withered. And he said to me, "Do you see these trees?" "I see, sir," I replied, "some putting forth buds, and others withered." "Those," he said, "which are budding are the righteous who are to live in the world to come; for the coming world is the summer of the righteous, but the winter of sinners. When, therefore, the mercy of the Lord shines forth, then shall they be made manifest who are the servants of God, and all men shall be made manifest. For as in summer the fruits of each individual tree appear, and it is ascertained of what sort they are, so also the fruits of the righteous shall be manifest, and all who have been fruitful in that world shall be made known. But the heathen and sinners, like the withered trees which you saw, will be found to be those who have been withered and unfruitful in that world, and shall be burnt as wood, and made manifest, because their actions were evil during their lives. For the sinners shall be consumed because they sinned and did not repent, and the heathen shall be burned because they knew not Him who created them. Do you therefore bear fruit, that in that summer your fruit may be known. And refrain from much business, and you will never sin: for they who are occupied with much business commit also many sins, being distracted about their affairs, and not at all serving their Lord.

And also in Luke 6:44
“For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.”

So shall we who overcome through faith in Christ be known of the fruit of the Lord’s work within us when the invisible shall be made visible by the Lord.

I decided to give that tree all summer in case it was just a late bloomer. I went around the tree and snapped a few twigs. Some branches were dry and clearly dead while others would bend and showed some signs of life. I cut off the dead branches to give the tree a chance to recover. As I was doing this I reflected on how Apostle Paul taught of the natural and wild olive branches in Romans 11.

I also then reflected upon the parable Jesus taught to His apostles:

Luke 13:6-10
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

I wasn’t reflecting on these things for tips on how to deal with my tree but as I dealt with the tree I was reflecting on these things which were coming to mind.

As it turned out, the entire tree ended up with one living branch and I decided this year to cut down the tree, dig up the roots, and plant a new tree in its place.

This also brings to mind a recent teaching from Psalm 1:
http://www.apostlejohnwelty.com/2012/01/my-notes-from-psalm-1.html

May the Lord be with you as you seek Him in the beauty of holiness.

Does Water Baptism Save?

I was recently asked the question, "Does water baptism save?"

No, water baptism does not save the soul. Under the New Covenant of Christ, the word "save" has to do salvation or salvaging the soul. The water baptism has no power to effect change within the soul. The water was symbolic and a sign of discipleship which the apostles stopped using after seeing that it was causing problems. We can see this in 1 Corinthians 1:12-17 which concludes with Paul writing, "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect."

Jesus also said to Peter, "After you are converted" for he was not yet baptized with the Spirit which is the point of our new birth in Christ. (Luke 22:32)

And Jesus also said to them before His ascension, "wait for the promise of the Father...For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." (Acts 1:4-5)

2 Peter 3:11-18 (S8W Online Assembly)

Chief Apostle Peter continues speaking concerning the promise of the Father concerning His plan to bring redemption and cleansing through Christ. Last week we looked at how many people dismiss the power and plan of God and provide for themselves many false justifications to do so. We looked at what Jesus brought out concerning this same mind set in:

Luke 17:26-27
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
As with the first covenant, there are two sides to the promise of the God. Christ is a blessing to those who obey His voice through the teaching of His living apostles by entering into covenant with Him through the things of His Spirit but so also are all those who refuse the doctrine of Christ under the curse of the Father.

We see this brought out quite clearly under the first covenant in:

Deuteronomy 28:1-2;15 (Abbreviating the full chapter)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

While we are no longer under Moses as that covenant is no longer in effect, the promise of the New Covenant of Christ is also a two sided promise. Listen to the assembly recording below as we look into this and finish up 2 Peter 3.

Public Speaking Dream

I woke just after midnight this morning from a dream in which I was standing out I'm the middle of a field with a narrow little podium and a large broadcast radio style microphone in front of me.

I also saw an indicator showing me there were 540 online listeners and I could hear what sounded like hundreds if people getting settled in the area surrounding me on all sides although I couldn't see them all.

I was rather nervous and felt a bit intimidated by the size of listening audience and was aware of how there would be some who would be listening only to censor and reject our message by the words I would speak.
